The World of MineX

"When the Eighth Pulse breaks and the water stops closing its circles, children of the nameless continent, marked by Essence and Blood, will awaken with the Broken Hour on their skin."

The Universe

The world of MineX is a medieval fantasy universe with an epic, tragic, and mysterious tone. It draws influences from classic high fantasy like The Lord of the Rings, combined with darker nuances in the style of Elden Ring, and the systematic magic of works like Mistborn.

There is only one known continent, controlled by a theocracy: the Empire of Time. In its capital, geometry and water are sacred; perfect circles are rarely shown, as their complete contemplation is reserved for the elites.

The population lives under a doctrine that identifies order with the survival of the world and disorder with annihilation. However, the Empire is secretly sustained by human sacrifices intended to create Perfect Stones — crystals that channel magic.

Your Story Begins

You begin as an anonymous prisoner, destined for sacrifice. After consuming Essence as part of the ritual, you unexpectedly survive, develop abilities, and escape.

You awaken in Lamport, a village ravaged by an inquisitorial raid. From there, you will embark on a journey to free the corrupted divine emanations (demigods) and uncover a machinery of control sustained by blood and lies.

"If they bind time to fear, the world will sleep perfect and dead. If they release it without measure, the world will dance free and broken. Only the Ninth Clock — neither closed nor open — can teach them to live."

Cosmology & Gods

The universe is structured around a metaphysical axis:

The God of Time

The organizing principle of the universe. Guards the flow and cycles; his cult legitimizes the Empire. His will is inscrutable; he does not intervene directly. His existence is deliberately kept ambiguous — he may be real or a religious construct.

Erevos (The Formless Dark One)

A counterforce that is not tyrannical, but libertarian: Erevos longs to break the cycle and liberate all existence, even at the cost of dissolving it. His symbol is a broken spiral that opens outward.

The Demigods (Emanations)

Verdant (Nature) and Helion (Sun) govern the initial playable regions. Other domains — Water, Memory, Space, Forge, Death, Moon — exist in mythology and will be revealed in future expansions.

Varel Theros: The Eternal Guardian

Varel Theros, the Eternal Guardian of the Cycle, has no divine lineage; his power comes from his discovery and corrupt use of life magic.

To prolong his existence, he practices Vital Suture: a blood ritual that requires a high-grade Perfect Stone and human victims. The younger the victims, the greater the purity and the longer his life extends.

Varel considers himself a necessary evil. He maintains that Erevos will lead to the dissolution of language, law, and form, returning the world to a prehuman state. His rule, spanning more than five centuries, has shaped culture, economy, and faith.

Factions

Empire of Time

Inquisitorial theocracy. Monopolizes Stones, Lenses, and portals. Aesthetic: white marble, pale gold, ritual geometry.

Libertarian League

Pro absolute freedom, unfettered trade, anti-imperialism. Aesthetic: warm textiles, open spiral emblems.

Rational College

Atheists/scientists. Magic is advanced physics and occult political power. Aesthetic: copper, crystal, astrolabes.

Aether Guild

Technologists and merchants. Flying ships, workshops, logistics. Aesthetic: burnished metal, technical runes.

Essence Cartels

Criminal networks of Essence and Lenses. Aesthetic: masks with crystalline filters, tunnels, hidden ports.

Cults of Erevos

Underground cells preaching the breaking of the cycle. Aesthetic: black hoods, broken spirals, liturgical whispers.

Magic, Essence & Perfect Stones

Magic is a physical phenomenon that can be channeled. Without crystal, there is no control.

Perfect Stones

Crystals created by human transmutation. The more lives sacrificed, the greater the purity. Young victims produce superior stones. Imperial power, political weapon, and liturgical core.

Lenses

Fragments implantable in the body that allow spells to be channeled or abilities to be enhanced. Your character class (warrior, archer, mage) is justified by Lenses or exceptional assimilation of Essence.

Essence

Material that enables creation of Perfect Stones, also used as a catalyst and drug. Regional varieties include Verdant Essence (nature/regeneration) and Solar Essence (sun/vigor).

Playable Regions

🌿 Lamport — Verdant Domain (Nature)

Mediterranean biome of sacred canals, wheat fields, and forests. Water is revered as the perfect molecule. After Verdant's corruption, growth becomes cancerous: strangling roots, bleeding trees, carnivorous flora.

Regional Boss: The Rooted Guardian — absorbs life from the environment.
Reward: Verdant Roots Set crafting materials and Verdant Essence.

☀️ Desert of the Dead Sun — Domain of Helion (Sun)

Ocean of sand, melted temples, constant mirages. The light never fades; the shadows grow old. Degenerate sun cults hold processions that end in ritual combustion.

Regional Boss: The Solar Reaper — skeleton with a scythe of light. Each cut echoes like a bell.
Reward: Radiant Sun Set and Solar Essence.

The Three Endings

The fate of the world depends on your choices. There is no "correct" ending — all three are canonical:

  • Order Ending: Maintain the cycle — static peace, perpetual oppression
  • Chaos Ending: Break the cycle — absolute freedom, dissolution of forms
  • Synthesis Ending (The Ninth Clock): Coexistence of order and freedom
